To help you get started, we’ve put together this guide to ensure you enjoy your Ligne 2 lighter to its fullest. From refilling to troubleshooting, here’s everything you need to know.
1. Which Gas Refill Is Required?
Your Ligne 2 lighter requires S.T. Dupont Premium Butane Gas. Depending on your lighter, you’ll need one of the following gas refills:
You can always check the gas refill cover if you are unsure which butane you require.
Using the recommended gas ensures optimal performance and longevity.
2. Which Flint Refills Are Required?
S.T. Dupont Ligne 2 lighters use S.T. Dupont Black Flints. These flints are designed specifically for the Ligne 2 mechanism, providing smooth ignition and protecting the roller from unnecessary wear. Avoid using generic flints, as they may damage the lighter over time.
3. How to Change the Flint and Refill the Gas
Changing the Flint:
Locate the flint chamber inside the lid of the lighter.
Press the small button located on the front of the flint section. The slide should unlock and move out of place.
Remove any remnants of the old flint and insert a new S.T. Dupont Flint.
Pull the slide shut with your hand. This may require effort for brand new lighters as well as some older models.
Refilling the Gas:
Unscrew the gas refill cover.
Hold the lighter upside down to access the refill valve.
Screw the adapter into the refill valve, press the nozzle of the gas refill canister firmly into the valve. Hold for 5-10 seconds and release.
Let the lighter rest for a minute to stabilize before testing ignition.
